The FRENCH CITTASLOW Network : Special guest of the Slow Tourism Fair in the Gers

The Departmental Board of Tourism « Destination GERS » organized in Simorre last Tuesday March 28th, the traditional  Tourism Day which, this year,  honored  Terra Gers®, slow tourism experience in the region.

More than 210 Gers tourism stakeholders (elected people, tourist offices of the whole region, tourism service providers…) answered the slow tourism call.

In the programme, the Cittaslow label was highlighted :

Giorgio BONACCI (Labastide d’Armagnac) and Pierre BEAUDRAN (Mayor of MIRANDE, French Network Coordinator) were invited to present the international label and the respective experiences of LABASTIDE D’ARMAGNAC and MIRANDE.

Cittaslow philosophy, concerning cities, join in a perfect harmony the departmental approach Terra Gers®, favouring sustainable tourism and proposing a new way of discovering the region Gers in Gascony (France).

An open air lunch in the heart of the charming historic village of Simorre was a savoury moment dedicated to gastronomy.

Lunch was also a pleasant time for an exchange between Cittaslow representatives and potentially interested cities of the Gers. An affair to follow…
