Katoomba (AUS): Cittaslow: Sustaining the Community, Nigel Bell at TEDxBMIHMS

Katoomba

Nigel Bell is the principal of ECOdesign Architects + ECOdesign Consultants, based in Katoomba (Blue Mountains). Born in England but grown up in Australia, his architectural degrees lead to social research, sociology, 'green bans' and connecting people with place, followed by 'social ecology'. Having devoted decades to life, community processes and interaction, plus sustainable architectural planning and facilitation work within the Blue Mountains, Nigel has a comprehensive over-view of these fields and more. His work and passion has been towards creating positive and sustainable change, be that socially, within community, or through built environments. 'Cittaslow' is the current and relevant adventure.....

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
