How to .... mushrooms

Goolwa

Meeting at 10:00 am, Kuitpo Forest

This is the next in a series of How to…. from paddock to plate events where we find out about our local food. Join us foraging for Pine Mushrooms in Kuitpo Forest.

I have attached a map – we should meet at the Information Centre (red dot and arrow) at 10am – it takes about 40 minutes to drive from Goolwa. OR we could meet at 9am at my house in Goolwa and Car Pool - there is a vacant block next door where cars can be left safely.

Please let me know whether you want to meet in Goolwa 9am or at the Kuitpo Information Centre at 10am – Just so I don’t lose anyone. We will go for a walk looking for Pine Mushrooms. When we have collected enough we will head to the Wood Cutters Cottage – marked with red cross on the attached map – a few minutes drive away – there is a cottage with a BBQ area at the back and we can have lunch there. I will cook up some of our forage and serve them on Ciabatta Bread.

What to Bring?

Rubber Boots or wet proof shoes just in case it is damp under foot, a flattish basket for gathering and a paring knife, your own drinks; thermos of Tea/Coffee, wine, glasses cups etc. , a small sweet to share - picnic style and an inquisitive mind.

Please call me on 0417 843 946 if you have any questions.

Cost? – only $5 for Cittaslow members and $10 for non members

Be quick as places are limited and this promises to be another fun filled and informative How To Session.
