Christmas tree for Pope. It is from Gołdap – one of the Polish Cittaslow Town

Gołdap

A spruce of about 25 meters comes from the Romincka forest, from the forest district of Gołdap. The tree was brought to the Vatican at the end of November. They were decorated with thousands of balls and chains of lights. The decorations were prepared, among other things, by children from cancer departments of several Italian hospitals who participated in therapeutic art workshops. The little patients created stars and balls of clay, which they then painted.

At the base of the Christmas tree, according to tradition, there are Christmas greetings texts in several languages, including Polish. There were also posters on which donors and tree decorations were mentioned. On one of the posters there is the logo of the foundation, whose pupils have made decorations.
